Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember information about your visit — such as your preferred language or whether you have already agreed to certain settings — so the site works more smoothly the next time you return.

Cookies do not give access to your device or any personal information beyond what you choose to share. Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can adjust your settings at any time (see Section 6).

2. Cookies We Use

We use four categories of cookies. Essential cookies are always active; the others are optional and require your consent.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some pages on our Website embed third-party content that may set their own cookies independently of our controls. These include:

  • Google Maps — used on our contact page to display our location. Google may set cookies related to map usage.
  • Google Analytics — if analytics cookies are accepted, Google Analytics may set cookies to track anonymised usage data.

We do not control third-party cookies. Please review the relevant third-party privacy policies for details on their data practices.

4. Cookie Duration

  • Session cookies — exist only for the duration of your browser session and are deleted when you close the browser. Used for security and form handling.
  • Persistent cookies — remain on your device for a set period. Our preference and analytics cookies typically expire after 12 months. You can delete them at any time through your browser settings.

5. Your Cookie Preferences

Use the toggles in Section 2 above to manage your preferences at any time. Your choices are saved to your device. Changing your preferences here updates the same consent record used across the Akar website.

Note that disabling optional cookies does not affect your ability to access our content or submit an enquiry. Disabling essential cookies, however, is not possible as they are necessary for the site to function.

6. Managing Cookies in Your Browser

You can also control cookies directly through your browser settings. Instructions for common browsers are below.

On mobile browsers, cookie settings are typically found in the device's main Settings app under the browser's section, or within the browser's menu.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to withdraw cookie consent at any time using the toggles in Section 2, or by clearing cookies via your browser. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before withdrawal.
